When we see things as they actually are, free of story, there is an inner knowing that in some way, we have always known what we are seeing. Story is that part of our context that we create. Our families, our starter kit of patterns and preferences, and our environment also contribute to our context. Constellation sorts this out, revealing things as they are, in ways that are often surprising. Particularly in family issues, it can be deeply moving, allowing something that is stuck in us, to release - perhaps allowing something that is burdening us, to return to its rightful owner - and in these ways to clear the way for the flow of love to return to our life. Seeing things as they are also brings renewed energy, deeper insights and better ideas to organizations, restoring the flow of energy that is often blocked.

The constellation method was developed by Bert Hellinger, German author, psychoanalyst, poet and healer, who now in his 80's refers to himself as a philosopher. It stands on the shoulders of psychotherapeutic approaches including Gestalt, Primal Scream, the work of Virginia Satir, and others. What is unique with constellation is what Hellinger calls, "the orders of love," - the way things are ordered in families, for example, that allows each one to belong and each one to have their rightful place. The work is free from prejudice and moralistic judgment. Formerly a Jesuit Priest, Hellinger lived 16 years with the Zulu in Africa, and with the translation and support of Hunter Beaumont and others, Family & Human Systems Constellation spread internationally where it has been widely used for the past 25 years.
